The village boasts three pubs and a number of shops including a butcher, fruit shop, post office, bakery, tea rooms and a chemist.

The sheltered beach offers safe swimming and rock pooling for all ages - there are also isolated coves just a short walk away.

Nearby is Llanbadrig church where it is reputed that St. Patrick was shipwrecked on the rocky shore below.

You can indulge in both sea and shore fishing, with boat charters from the harbour. Cemlyn Bay bird reserve is a couple of miles away.

Snowdonia National Park is a 40 minute drive from Cemaes Bay and the mountains can be seen as you drive around the island of Anglesey. You will pass through the picturesque villages of Bennellech, Moelfre and Beaumaris along the way. Boat trips to Puffin Island can be arranged from next door to the RNLI station at Beaumaris that overlooks the spectacular Menai Straits.

There are several golf courses on the island with some fantastic sea views. You can make it a two country break with a day trip to Dublin on the ferry from Holyhead, which is about 20 minutes drive away.
